한 시간이라도 깨어 있어 기도하자 Let's stay awake for even an hour and pray. 기도하라고 성경에서는 반복하여 말씀하고 있다. 기도만큼 성경이 강조하고 있는 것도 없다. 이 기도에 대한 강조는 예수님 사역의 중심 엔진과 같은 것이라고 할 수 있다. 기도로 시작하고 기도로 살고 기도로 마치는 것이 예수님의 일생이다. 그러나 예수님의 기도는 정적인 기도가 아니었다. 예수님의 기도는 행동하는 삶이었다. 기도하고 그것으로 끝난 것이 아니라 기도로 하나님 아버지께 도움을 요청하고, 그것을 힘입어 전도하고, 제자 삼고, 문제가 있는 사람들을 고쳐주셨다. The Bible says again and again to pray. Nothing is more emphasized by the Bible than prayer. The emphasis on this prayer is the same as the central engine of the Temple of Jesus. It is the life of Jesus that begins with prayer, lives with prayer, and ends with prayer. But Jesus' prayer was not a static prayer. Jesus' prayer was a life of action.
